Historic Columbia Speedway

Historic Columbia Speedway was one of the "cradles of stock car” racing from its opening in 1948 until the track closed for racing in 1978. The track often hosted many stock car greats including Richard Petty, David Pearson, Ned Jarrett, Junior Johnson to name a few. 

Today the speedway has opened with a new mission to host all types of events from festivals, concerts, cycling, car shows, and trade shows.  The 9-acre grassed infield encased by the old half-mile asphalt oval creates a unique and special environment. Large parking facilities allow for comfortable crowds of thousands. 

The facility plans for long-term additions include a museum and conference center as well as a 9-acre park with a Historic Walk of Fame saluting the drivers who raced there.  The Historic Columbia Speedway is a place to celebrate history while enjoying a unique outdoor venue for all types of events.
